She lived for the sound
Of chirping birds in the morning
To distract her from thoughts of mourning
She lived for the calmness of the sea
When the chaos of the world
Was all that she could see
She lived for the love of her family
When any other attention she would get
She thought was complete blasphemy
But when the love wasn’t enough
So was her optimism
When the sea raged on
So did her dark thoughts
And when the chirping finally stopped
So did her heart.
